Leaders Council reports as Lib Dems confirm when new party leader will be in place

The Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland has published a report following the Liberal Democrats' announcement that a new party leader will be appointed by mid-July.

Nominations for candidates to succeed Jo Swinson will open on May 11 and will close on May 28. The final ballot, open to the party’s wider membership, will then commence on June 18 and run until July 15.

Sir Ed Davey and Mark Pack are to continue serving as joint acting leaders until the leadership contest has ended.
