Leaders Council reports on Javid's trade pledges

The Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland has reported on chancellor Sajid Javid's comments this week, after he said that the UK will be "better off outside the EU" despite frictionless trade with the bloc ceasing at the end of the year.

Javid moved to reassure industry that supply chains "would be protected" and promised "complete equivalence" for the automotive industry and other sectors trading with the continent.

The chancellor is also confident that the EU will change its stance on equivalence for the UK finance sector.

The full report may be read on the Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland website here.
