RSP recruited to help deliver new coronavirus hospital
The Richard Stephens Partnership [RSP] has been drafted in as the MEP design lead to assist the NHS and military in delivering the Nightingale Hospital which will function as a coronavirus treatment facility.
RSP, a mechanical and electrical building and engineering services consultancy in Edenbridge, Kent, specialises in the delivery of healthcare and laboratory work.
The temporary hospital is being set up at the ExCeL Centre in east London, an exhibition space which has previously been used to host high-profile events such as Crufts and Comic Con.
Staffed by NHS medics assisted by military personnel, the hospital will initially offer 500 beds equipped with ventilators and oxygen, but will eventually have the capacity to hold up to 4,000 patients.
