William George Homes MD launches to help struggling SMEs

William George Homes founder and managing director, George Nixon, has set-up, a new business geared toward helping firms who are struggling financially as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Battersea based property developer has partnered up with investors and recognised house builders to launch Get Building, aimed toward businesspersons and homeowners whose premises or properties have development potential.

Get Building’s mission is to help these individuals with cashflow issues through the current crisis for a circa 12-month period, discussing the client’s full needs with them to develop a tailored solution.

Meanwhile, the Get Building team would work on gaining the relevant planning permission for the client’s property. Property value and terms of business is agreed in advance and documented through the standard legal channels.

George Nixon commented: “The basic purpose of Get Building is to help struggling SMEs who own property that jointly we can develop. We put the investment in, keep the wolves from the door for the time being and jointly we profit when we get development planning.

“It is a win-win situation and clearly, we do need more housing regardless of the Covid-19 pandemic. But, with the current situation in mind, if we can help some of those whose livelihoods are in jeopardy and enhance what they have, for the benefit of both, then we have achieved something”.
